Shopkeepers in Chanapora face harassment by food department

Srinagar: The shopkeepers in Chanapora area of Srinagar city who deal with food items (kiryana) face harassment on daily basis by food department.

The shopkeepers near Ahli Hadith Masjid in Chanapora Srinagar said that they were harassed by food department officials for allegedly opening shops in the area.

“We have suffered huge loses and are suffering due to Covid-19 lockdown and food department is adding more fuel to our sufferings”, said the shopkeepers.

The said shopkeepers have appealed to the authorities to look into this matter and help them in earning their livelihood with dignity and respect
