Govt constitutes search committee for appointment of new JKBOSE Chairman

Srinagar: The J&K government on Wednesday constituted a search committee to suggest a panel of candidates for the appointment as new Chairman of JK Board of School Education (BOSE).

The term of incumbent Chairman JKBOSE, Veena Pandita will expire on April 30.

As per the order issued by General Administration Department (GAD), a five member search committee headed by financial commissioner, finance department as its chairman has been constituted to submit the panel of candidates.

Other members of the committee include principal secretary school education department, secretary higher education department, Vice-Chancellors of both- Kashmir and Jammu University.

“The committee shall be serviced by the school education department and shall submit the panel within 15 days,” reads the GAD order.

The incumbent Chairman JKBOSE, Veena Pandita was appointed as officiating chairperson of Board in on August 10, 2017 replacing Zahoor Ahmad Chatt who was repatriated to his parent higher education department.

Later on April 05 of 2018, Pandita was appointed as permanent Chairman of Board for a period of two years. The tenure of Veena Pandita expired on April 04, but the J&K government extended her tenure till April 30, in view of the prevailing circumstances.
