Drug peddler arrested in Pulwama, contraband recovered
Pulwama, Apr 10: Continuing its sustained efforts against the drug menace, Pulwama Police achieved a significant success during naka checking near Romshi Nallah.
A police party of Police Post Rahmoo, while performing naka checking and patrolling duties, apprehended a suspicious individual identified as Ab Hameed Thoker S/o Gh. Ahmad Thoker R/o Thokerpora, who was carrying a nylon bag. During the search of the said bag, a contraband substance in the form of semi crushed cannabis powder was recovered. The recovered substance weighed approximately 6 kg and was seized on the spot after completing all legal formalities. The accused has been taken into custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 51/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajpora and investigation has been taken up.
Pulwama Police reiterates its commitment to eradicate the drug menace and urges the general public to share any information related to drug peddling in their areas.
