Report of Kashmiri student’s killing in Iran fake: JKSA
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) on Sunday said reports circulating on social media about the killing of a Kashmiri student in Iran are fake and baseless.
In a statement, JKSA national convenor Nasir Khuehami said the association had verified the matter through available channels and confirmed that no such incident had taken place.
“The news circulating about the killing of a Kashmiri student from Inderkote Sumbal area of Kashmir in Iran is completely fake and baseless. We have verified the matter through available channels and no such incident has taken place,” he said.
Khuehami added that although the situation in parts of Iran remains tense due to ongoing escalation and airstrikes, all Indian students, including those from Kashmir are safe.
He said the Indian Embassy in Tehran and officials from the Ministry of External Affairs are in regular contact with students and are closely monitoring the situation.
He also urged people to refrain from spreading unverified information and rumours that could create panic among families and the wider community. — (KIMS)
