Dr Jitendra chairs DISHA meeting of Kathua District
JAMMU, FEBURARY 23– Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh, today chaired a meeting of District Development Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) of Kathua District at Jammu.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Singh said that the Committee is responsible for effective development coordination of almost all the programmes of Central Government, whether it is for infrastructure development or social and human resource development. The Committee will have coordination and monitoring powers and its role would be to facilitate timely execution of approved projects in the district, he added.
The MP directed all the HoDs to cancel all the attachments in their respective departments so that employees can work and render their services in remote and far off places. He also stressed on rationalization of staff especially in Health, Education and PHE department as people have high expectations from these departments.
Dr. Singh also directed DDC Kathua, O P Bhagat to issue the selection list of SPOs, which has been pending for the past few years.
Mentioning several flagship projects of district Kathua, Dr. Singh said that realignment of Ujh Multipurpose Project, Hiranagar Stadium and Biotech Park besides other projects, when executed, will help in improving the socio economic profile of the district.
Earlier, DDC, O P Bhagat presented the district profile besides financial as well as physical progress of all the Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented in the district.
The Minister, after having a look on progress of various schemes in the district, asked the officers to strictly follow the guidelines while executing the schemes and take effective follow up of issues raised during the deliberations.
BDC Chairpersons of various blocks of Kathua, who were also present in the meeting, highlighted their demands in presence of the MP.
The demands were mainly related to better roads, PHE and PDD infrastructure besides clearing MGNREGA liabilities, separate list of left out beneficiaries of various schemes and forest clearance of important road projects etc.
ADC Kathua, ACD, PO ICDS, Principal, GMC Kathua, SEs, Executive Engineers, CEO, CMO and other district officers were present in the meeting.
