Action Against Illegal Mining Continues, JCB and Two Tractors Seized by Pulwama Police; FIR Registered

Pulwama, Dec 30: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining activities, Pulwama Police, during routine patrolling at Village Nownagri, detected the illegal extraction and soil transportation .

During the operation, a JCB bearing Registration No. JK13J-8922, driven by Shafiq Hussain S/o Mubarak Shah R/o Reasi, was found engaged in illegal loading of extracted soil into tractors.

Police team promptly intercepted the vehicles and apprehended two tractors involved in the illegal activity, Tractor Registration No. JK03K-9309, driven by Mushtaq Ahmad Mir S/o Abdul Aziz Mir R/o Nownagri and
Tractor bearing Chassis No. WQCN5161803, driven by Aqib Yousuf S/o Mohd. Yousuf R/o Nownagri.

All the involved vehicles were seized on the spot.

Consequently, FIR No. 115/2025 under Sections 3 PPD Act and 303(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Litter, and investigation has been taken up.

Pulwama Police reiterates its firm commitment to safeguarding natural resources and once again warns all offenders to refrain from illegal mining activities. Strict legal action shall be taken against violators as per law.
