Pulwama Police Crack Down on Illegal Mining; 2 JCBs, 5 Tractors Seized

Pulwama, Dec 2: In a determined crackdown on illegal mining, Pulwama Police intensified night patrolling across sensitive locations in the district. During the intervening night of December 1 and 2, teams from Police Station Litter carried out focused checks at Rambi Ara and village Nikloora, seizing two JCB machines, five tractors, and a loader allegedly involved in unlawful mineral extraction.

An FIR (No. 104/2025) has been registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the Prevention of Public Property Damage (PPD) Act.

Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any illegal movement of minerals, stating that public cooperation is crucial in protecting natural resources and curbing such activities.
