Srinagar Police Conducts Citywide Inspection of Car Dealerships

Srinagar, November 21, 2025:

As part of heightened security measures, Srinagar Police carried out extensive inspections of car dealerships across the city, covering the jurisdictions of Police Stations Nowhatta, Lal Bazar, MR Ganj, Safakadal, Zadibal, Khanyar and others.

The drive aims to prevent the misuse of vehicles for unlawful activities and ensure that all dealers comply with safety protocols and mandatory documentation requirements.

During the inspections, Police teams verified:

Proper maintenance of stock and sales records

Identity verification procedures for purchasers

Compliance with security-related guidelines

Validity of licenses and adherence to regulatory norms

Car dealers and shop owners were briefed on the heightened security scenario and were urged to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious transactions, and maintain complete transparency in operations.
