J&K Police Arrest Two Hybrid Terrorists in Sopore, Arms Recovered

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with 22 RR and 179 Battalion CRPF, arrested two hybrid terrorists during a joint naka operation at Sadeeq Colony, Mominabad area of Sopore town in North Kashmir on Thursday.

Police said the naka was laid after specific input regarding the movement of suspicious individuals in the area. During checking, two persons coming from Fruit Mandi Sopore towards Ahad Baba Crossing attempted to flee on noticing the presence of security forces but were chased and apprehended.

The arrested persons have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Najar, son of Mohammad Akbar Najar of Mohalla Tawheed Colony, Maazbugh, and Shabir Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Sultan Mir of Brath Sopore.

One pistol, one magazine, 20 live rounds, and two hand grenades were recovered from their possession, indicating their involvement in terror-related activities.

A case under FIR No. 253/2025 has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation has been set into motion.
