NC candidate richest with net worth of Rs 14.31 cr PDP candidate poorest at Rs 2.37 lakh
Srinagar, Oct 21: Among the prominent who filed their nomination papers today for the Budgam Assembly bypolls, National Conference candidate, Aga Syed Mahmood Al-Mousavi has declared the highest net worth with the Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) declaring the lowest.
According to the affidavit, Al-Mousavi has declared the highest net worth of approximately Rs 14.31 crore, making him the wealthiest, among the prominent candidates in the fray
A businessman and former legislator, Al-Mousavi has declared movable assets worth Rs 28.02 lakh for himself and Rs 23.58 lakh for his spouse.

Al-Mousavi, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, carries liabilities of Rs 97.69 lakh, mainly loans against property, and has reported an annual income exceeding Rs 52 lakh from business, rentals and pension.
Following him is Mukhtar Ahmad Dar of the Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party, who has declared total assets of Rs 9 crore and liabilities of Rs 6.59 crore, bringing his net worth to about Rs 2.37 crore.
His assets include agricultural and non-agricultural land, while his liabilities largely comprise business loans.
Dar has declared an annual income of Rs 13.55 lakh and one pending criminal case related to cheating. His highest educational qualification is 10th standard.
Independent candidate Muntazir Mohi Ud Din, who was recently expelled by the Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party, has declared movable assets worth Rs 95,000 and immovable assets valued at Rs 1.88 crore, mostly inherited.
As per his affidavit, he has no liabilities and lists pension as his only source of income. Mohi Ud Din holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts.
Another Independent, Nazir Ahmad Khan, a farmer by profession, and a former DDC Budgam Chairman, has declared a total net worth of Rs 1.35 crore.
His movable assets are valued at Rs 23.35 lakh for himself and Rs 3.90 lakh for his spouse, while his immovable property is valued at Rs 1.12 crore, comprising agricultural land and a leased residential house in Srinagar.
He has no liabilities and has declared income from horticulture and agriculture as “Not Assessable” for tax purposes. Khan has studied up to 10th standard.
Parvez Ahmad Mir of the Republican Party of India (A), an IT professional and businessman, has declared a net worth of Rs 1.03 crore.
His movable assets amount to Rs 2.89 lakh for himself and Rs 22.22 lakh for his spouse, mostly cash and gold.
His immovable assets include an inherited house valued at Rs 1 crore and another owned by his spouse worth Rs 1.20 crore.
He declared that he has no liabilities and has an annual income of Rs 5 lakh from professional and business ventures. Mir holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
At the other end of the financial spectrum, Aga Syed Mohsin of the Bharatiya Janata Party has declared a negative net worth of about Rs 91,000, indicating that his liabilities exceed his assets.
He has movable assets worth Rs 1.55 lakh and liabilities of Rs 2.46 lakh, with no significant immovable property.
His annual income is Rs 4.27 lakh, earned from farming and has a pending criminal case involving assault on a public servant and criminal intimidation.
Mohsin’s highest educational qualification is 10th standard.
Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who holds an LLM degree, has declared only Rs 2.37 lakh in bank deposits.
Deeba Khan of the Aam Aadmi Party has reported Rs 30.95 lakh in movable assets, mostly jewellery, while her spouse has declared Rs 26.89 lakh. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science.
