Srinagar, Oct 17: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered the adhoc elevation of ten Sub-Judges as District Judges (Entry Level), acting on the recommendations of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh.
As per an order issued by the Home Department, the decision follows a communication from the Registrar General of the High Court and has been made in accordance with Rule 20 of the J&K Higher Judicial Service Rules, 2009.
The officers promoted on an adhoc basis include Mir Wajahat, Aadil Mushtaq, Fozia Paul, Mehreen Mushtaq, Feroz Ahmad Khan, Imran Hussain Wani, Preet Simran Kour, Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi, Umesh Sharma, and Sheikh Gowhar Hussain.
The order states that the adhoc appointments will remain in effect for six months or until regular appointments are made, whichever occurs earlier. It also clarifies that the temporary promotion will not confer any claim to seniority or preference over candidates appointed through the regular selection process under the Direct Recruitment or Limited Competitive Examination (LCE) quota.
Once regular appointments are finalized, the officers will revert to their parent cadre, unless vacancies continue to exist in the respective categories, the order further notes.
