General Warrant Issued Against Hizbul Mujahideen Terrorist Operating from Pakistan
Anantnag, October 13:
The Hon’ble Special Judge under the NIA Act, Anantnag, has issued a General Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) against Zaffar Bhat alias Khursheed, son of Sana Ullah Bhat, a resident of Lewar, Srigufwara, following a request submitted by the Anantnag Police.
According to police sources, Zaffar Bhat is a senior operative of the banned terrorist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen and is currently operating from Pakistan. He has been involved in several terror-related cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, along with other relevant laws.
The Hon’ble Court has directed the Anantnag Police to take all necessary measures to ensure his appearance before the court at the earliest.
This move comes as part of the Anantnag Police’s continued efforts to bring absconding terrorists to justice and to uphold peace and security in the region.
The police have also appealed to the general public to share any credible information regarding the movement or contacts of the absconding terrorist with the nearest police station or through official helpline numbers. Authorities assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
