Special Crime Wing Conducts Searches in Awantipora and Kulgam in Job Fraud Case

Srinagar, October 9, 2025:

The Special Crime Wing Srinagar (Crime Branch Kashmir) is conducting searches at multiple locations in Awantipora and Kulgam in connection with ongoing investigations into two cases — FIR No. 06/2025 under Sections 420, 468, 471 IPC, and FIR No. 07/2025 under Sections 420, 468, 471 RPC. Both cases pertain to allegations of job fraud and cheating by the accused individuals.

According to officials, the searches are currently underway at the residences of Shakeel Ahmad Makroo, resident of Awantipora, Pulwama, and Farooq Ahmad Thokar, resident of Sehpora, District Kulgam.

The operation is being carried out in pursuance of search warrants issued by the competent court, in the presence of Executive Magistrates and with assistance from the local police.
