Educational Tour Organised for Army Goodwill School Ziran Students on World Tourism Day

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, Himalayan Brigade under Dagger Division organised an educational excursion for the students of Army Goodwill School (AGS) Ziran. The tour was designed to foster curiosity, broaden horizons, and provide firsthand exposure to the rich cultural and historical heritage of Kashmir.

A total of 142 students from Classes VI to X (83 boys and 59 girls), accompanied by 11 staff members, participated in the day-long excursion. The visit commenced at the University of Kashmir, where students explored various academic departments and the prestigious Allama Iqbal Library. This experience offered valuable insights into higher education facilities and underscored the importance of cultivating reading habits, research skills, and lifelong learning.

The students then proceeded to Burzhama, a significant archaeological site, where they learned about the prehistoric heritage of the Valley. This was followed by a visit to the magnificent Shalimar Bagh, one of the finest Mughal gardens, where the students admired its beauty, design, and historical relevance.

The tour also included a recreational session at a local park, where students participated in group activities in a refreshing natural environment. The blend of education and recreation not only enhanced their knowledge but also strengthened camaraderie among students and teachers.

The excursion concluded with students expressing great enthusiasm, actively engaging in discussions, and carrying home a renewed sense of responsibility towards preserving and valuing the cultural legacy of Kashmir.
