3rd National Lok Adalat 2025 Held Successfully at District Court Complex Srinagar, Justice Delivered with Dignity: LokAdalat Promotes Amicable Dispute Resolution and Access to Justice for All
Srinagar, September, 13 2025: In a significant stride towards delivering timely and amicable justice, the District Judiciary Srinagar, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar and Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Srinagar successfully organized the 3rd National Lok Adalat of the year 2025 at the District Court Complex Mominabad, Srinagar, and at the Court of the Additional Special Mobile Magistrate/JMIC Panthachowk. The Lok Adalat was held under the able guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Judge, High Court of J&K and Ladakh /Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority and overall supervision of Ms. ShaziaTabasum, Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority & Mr. Tasleem Arief, Principal District & Sessions Judge/ Chairman, DLSA Srinagar, along with Mr.  Aadil Mushtaq, Chief Judicial Magistrate/Chairman TLSC Srinagar and Mr. Sajad Ur Rehman, Secretary, DLSA Srinagar.
The Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Mr. Tasleem  Arief, Worthy Principal District & Sessions Judge/ Chairman, DLSA Srinagar,  in presence of esteemed judicial officers, members of the bar, court staff and DLSA Staff.
During an interaction with the media, Mr. Tasleem Arief, Principal District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, emphasized that the National Lok Adalat provides an effective and economical platform for dispute resolution. He stated that it ensures a win-win situation where both parties get their concerns heard and settled amicably. Mr. Arief further added that such initiatives significantly reduce the case backlog and deliver justice in a dignified, timely, and cost-effective manner, thereby strengthening public trust in the judicial system.
To facilitate the amicable settlement of cases, 11 benches were constituted, in which Overall 13671 cases were taken up for settlement out of which 12528 cases were amicably settled &Rs. 4,94,62,242 was awarded as settlement amount.
wherein the First Bench was presided over by Ms. Jeema Bashir (Presiding Officer, MACT, Court Srinagar)  and Mr. Vinod Kumar (Special Judge NDPS, Cases Srinagar), in which  60 cases were taken out of which 46 cases were amicably settled &Rs:- 31753000/- was awarded as settlement amount . The 2ndBench was presided over by Ms. KusoomPandita (Additional District Judge, Bank Cases)and by  Ms.  AnjumAra (Ist Additional District & Sessions Judge) Srinagar, The3rdBench was presided over by Mr. Farooq Ahmad Bhat (Additional District & Sessions Judge Srinagar)and Mr. Abdul Bari (City Judge, Srinagar), the 4thBench was presided over by Ms.  Renu Dogra (Principal Judge Family Court) Srinagar and Mr. Vikas Bhardwaj(2ndAdditional  Munsiff)  Srinagarthe 5th Bench was presided over by Mr. FaizanUlHaq Iqbal (Addl. Spl. Judge Anti-Corruption) and Ms. Swati Gupta (2nd Additional District & Sessions Judge) Srinagar, the 6th Bench was presided over by Mr. Aadil Mushtaq Banday (Chief Judicial Magistrate) Srinagar and Mr. Faizan I Nazar(Spl. Mobile Magistrate/Railway Magistrate) Srinagar, the 7th  Bench was presided over by Mr. Touseef Ahmad Magray (Spl. Mobile  Magistrate Traffic) and Mr. Fida Hussain Nayek (Municipal Magistrate, Srinagar),the 8th Bench was presided over by Mr. Mohammad Ishtiyaq Alam Baba(Forest Magistrate) Srinagar and Ms. Massarat Jabeen (PT& E Magistrate) Srinagar and the 9th Bench was presided over Mr. Adnan Manzoor (Sub-Registrar/JMIC) Srinagar and Mr. Zirgham Hamid (Ist Add. Munsiff/JMIC), Srinagar and the 10th Bench was presided over by Ms. ShivaniAttri(Additional Spl. Mobile Magistrate/JMIC Panthachowk) Srinagar and Adv. Baba Sajad and the 11th Bench was presided over by Dr. Farah Deeba(Officiating President District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission Srinagar) and Shabnum Munshi(Member District  Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission Srinagar).
The 3rd National Lok Adalat of 2025 witnessed a huge participation of officers/officials from different departments; litigants.The success of the3rd National Lok Adalat reflects the judiciary’s commitment to resolving disputes through mutual understanding and compromise. Such initiatives not only lessen the backlog of cases in the courts but also strengthen the public’s faith in the legal system.
