PDP Seeks FIR Against Waqf Chairperson, Alleges Misuse of Power
Srinagar, Sep 08 : A controversy has erupted in Kashmir, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) attempting to file a First Information Report (FIR) against Waqf Chairperson Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi. The party alleges that Andrabi has misused her position and disrespected religious sentiments.
According to reports, a delegation from the PDP visited Hazratbal and Nigeen Police Stations to file a complaint, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The party has accused Andrabi of deliberately placing the national emblem on a plaque at a religious site, which they claim is prohibited in Islam.
The PDP has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw FIRs filed against 50 people in connection with the incident and instead file a case against Andrabi. The party has also criticized Andrabi’s actions, stating that she is not an elected member and has no right to misuse her position.
