BJP Orchestrated Dargah Controversy for Vote Bank Politics: National Conference
Srinagar, September 6: The National Conference has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of deliberately fueling the Dargah controversy to gain political mileage in Bihar by exploiting its vote bank.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Srinagar, NC spokespersons said that using a revered shrine as a political stage is completely unacceptable.
They alleged that the Vice Chairman of the Waqf Board has turned the Dargah into a political hub, which is not only unacceptable but also a direct attack on the sanctity of religious institutions. The NC demanded that the Vice Chairman be immediately removed from his position.
The party further stated that an FIR should be registered against the Vice Chairman for the unauthorized use of the national emblem, in order to uphold the rule of law.
The NC also revealed that a special House Committee of the Legislative Assembly will be formed to investigate financial and administrative irregularities linked to the Waqf. The aim, it said, is to bring the facts before the public and hold the culprits accountable.
The party concluded that attempts to drag the Dargah into politics reflect a dangerous trend that will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
