Imran Khan’s Fate Hangs in Balance: Key Bail Hearing on June 11

Islamabad, June 9: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail, may soon see a turning point in his legal battles. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is set to hear a crucial petition on June 11 regarding the suspension of sentences for Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the 190-million-pound Al-Qadir Trust case.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Gohar Ali Khan hinted that the date could mark a significant development for the couple, though he refrained from disclosing specific details. “June 11 is an important day,” he stated, fueling speculation about Khan’s possible release.

Khan, 72, has been incarcerated since August 2023 in a series of cases that PTI claims are politically motivated. His arrest and subsequent convictions have drawn national and international attention.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) previously requested more time to present its arguments, leading the IHC to adjourn the hearing until next week. Legal experts and PTI supporters eagerly await the outcome, which could have far-reaching implications for Pakistan’s political landscape.
