NTA To Conduct CUET UG 2024 Retest For Students Who Raised Complaints From July 15-19

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed the schedule for the re-examination and published the provisional answer key for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024.

According to the official notification, the re-test for CUET UG 2024 is scheduled to take place from July 15 to 19, 2024, contingent upon valid complaints.

“The NTA is also addressing public grievances regarding the exam conducted for CUET-UG that were received up to June 30. If a grievance is found genuine, the NTA is committed to redoing the exam for these candidates at selected centres any day between July 15 and 19,” NTA official said.

Candidates have the opportunity to raise objections against the provisional answer key until July 9, 5 PM, with a fee of Rs 200 per question, which is non-refundable.

“The candidates can submit their challenges for the answer key by 6 pm on July 9,” a senior NTA official said.

“Challenges made by the candidates will be verified by a panel of subject experts. Based on the revised final answer key, the result will be declared,” the official said.

Furthermore, the NTA has published the answer key for the undergraduate entrance exam, although the release of results will be delayed.

The delay in CUET-UG results coincides with ongoing controversies surrounding alleged irregularities in various competitive exams, including NEET and NET. Initially, the CUET-UG exam was scheduled in a hybrid format nationwide but faced a last-minute cancellation in Delhi due to logistical issues, later being conducted in the national capital.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had previously announced a condensed schedule for the third edition of CUET-UG, completing all exams within seven days without score normalization, conducted exclusively in a single shift.

Among the 63 subjects tested, 15 were in pen-paper mode while the remaining 48 were computer-based. This year, over 13.4 lakh candidates registered for the CUET-UG, seeking admission to undergraduate courses across 261 central, state, deemed, and private universities.
