Assistant Professor At Jammu University Injured In Firing Incident
JAMMU (KIMS) — An assistant professor at Jammu University was injured in a firing incident at Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu.
Reports said, “The incident occurred around 10:30 am as Surjeet Singh, a security guard from Kalakot, was traveling in a Metador bearing Registration Number JK02BG-1184 near Akash Institute Green Belt Park in Jammu. Suddenly, a bullet was fired from his 12-bore gun struck Bharati Raj, identified as an Assistant Professor at Jammu University.”
“Bharati Raj suffered injury in his arm and was taken to Gandhi Nagar Hospital for treatment. Subsequently, doctors referred him to Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu for advanced treatment,” they said.
Meanwhile, Surjeet Singh has been arrested by the police and is currently held in custody at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and further investigation into the incident is going on. — (KIMS)
