Dir Horticulture Chairs Special Mega Awareness Camp At Shopian

Shopian, Jun 28: Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat Friday chaired the special Mega Awareness cum training camp at Shadab Karewa District Shopian.

District Development Commissioner Shopian Owais Ahmed also graced the event.

The awareness camp was attended byLead Bank Officer Shopian, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Officers from EDI/KVK/Rural Development Department, besides District Level officers and field staff of Horticulture sector.

President Fruit Growers Association, Mohammad Ashraf Mir also attended the camp.

The Department displayed machinery/tool and some models of various schemes in the event. Director Horticulture explained the developmental schemes implemented by Horticulture Department and also the described the incentives being provided to the orchardists under these schemes.

The Director Horticulture assured that Horticulture Department will try its best to meet the demands of orchardists of the District.

District Development Commissioner applauded the Horticulture Department for organizing such training programmes. Farmers were advised to switch over to new high density plantation programme so as to harvest the full potential of production.

Director Horticulture issued strict instructions to officers/officials of field staff to remain punctual, dedicated and honest in performing the Government duties and maintain a close liaison with growers/orchardists, so that they get the benefits of the schemes under implementation in the district.

Instructions were also issued to the officers/officials regarding conducting of more and more awareness / training camps at block/tehsil level so as to impart training on pruning and other horticultural operations besides establishment of high density orchards. A large number of people attended the workshop and appreciated Director Horticulture for organizing such awareness programme.
