Police arrests drug peddler in Sopore, contraband substance recovered

January 02: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A Police party of Police Post Fruit Mandi during patrolling at Fruit Mandi crossing near Chakrodikhan Sopore intercepted a suspicious person. During search, 300 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Ghulam Rasool Najar @Mudasir son of Ghulam Mohi-u-din Najar resident of Mumkak Sopore. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 01/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been initiated.
