Light Snowfall Over Isolated Extreme Higher Reaches Of J&K From Jan 4-5: MeT
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Monday forecast mainly dry weather in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till January 7.
The Department also forecast very light snowfall over isolated extreme higher reaches of the Union Territory from January 4 to 5.
An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “The weather is expected to remain mainly dry in Jammu and Kashmir till January 3.” “Similar weather conditions will prevail in the Union Territory from January 6 to 7,” he said.
He said, “Generally cloudy with dry weather over plains is expected in Jammu and Kashmir from January 4 to 5.“ “There is possibility of very light snowfall over isolated extreme higher reaches of the Union Territory during this period,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded minus 5.2°C, Qazigund minus 3.6°C, Kupwara minus 4.5°C, Gulmarg minus 3.4°C, Pahalgam minus 5.7°C and Kokernag minus 1.7°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Monday.
The Winter capital, Jammu recorded 7.3°C, Katra 7.1°C, Batote 3.1°C, Bhaderwah 0.6°C and Banihal minus 0.8°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region.
In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 10.0°C and Kargil minus 9.2°C as the Minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
