Two-day annual ‘Techvaganza’ fest concludes at NIT Srinagar 

Musical performances left the audience mesmerized 

Srinagar, June 10: Two-day annual techno-cultural fest ‘Techvaganza’ concluded at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Saturday. The mega event witnessed massive participation from students from more than 30 educational institutions from Kashmir Valley.

Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Sudhakar Yedla, Institute’s Registrar Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Abdul Liman, Dr. Tanveer Rasool, Associate DSW and faculty coordinator Techvaganza 2023, Asst. Registrar Director’s Office and Legal, Mohammad Hazik, and other dignitaries were present during the second-day proceedings.

The dignitaries visited the stalls and also encouraged students for taking an active part in cultural and technical programs on the campus.

On the occasion, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Sudhakar Yedla said congratulated the student organizers on their commendable job in organizing this two-day long program so well.

“Techvaganza 2023 was totally coordinated and organized by the students of NIT Srinagar. The faculty and administrative staff have come to sit back and enjoy this amazing show put on display by our students,” he said.

Prof. Yedla said it was completely their(students) show and we are all so proud of our students and their organizational abilities.

He said these events provide students with a platform to explore and showcase their talents and interests.

“Whether it’s in the field of technology, arts, music, dance, or any other area, students get the opportunity to participate in various activities, competitions, and workshops that align with their passions,” Prof. Yedla said.

 Institute’s Registrar, Prof Syed Kaiser Bukhari said during the 2 day Techvaganza that witnessed the massive participation of students from across Kashmir.

“Techvaganza offered a range of workshops, seminars, and hands-on activities that allow students to develop and enhance their skills. They provided practical and experiential learning environment outside the traditional classroom setting,” Prof. Bukhari said.

He said such fests celebrate the rich diversity of students from various backgrounds. They provide a platform for students to showcase their cultural heritage, traditions, and artistic expressions, Prof. Bukhari said.

Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Abdul Liman, said during the past two days, workshops, exhibitions, and cultural sessions allowed students to showcase their abilities and receive recognition for their accomplishments.

“It boosts their self-confidence and self-esteem, as they get to present their work in front of an audience and receive feedback,” he said.

Faculty Coordinator Techvaganza 2023, Dr. Tanveer Rasool said that the two-day ‘Techvaganza’ event was successfully held after a gap of 4 years on the campus. We received positive back from the student community across the Valley.

 Dr. Rasool said these fests play a significant role in shaping students’ careers in the technology field and preparing them for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Later in the evening, famous Kashmiri singer Yawar Abdal and Lohar – The Blacksmiths which is a multi-lingual Art Rock band from Southern India mesmerized the audience with their musical performances.

Students from across the country enjoyed cuisines from Kashmir to Kerala in the Food Court. Various stalls from fashion, cosmetics, trekking equipment, fun stalls, and gaming zones were set up by the organizers to attract a massive audience.
