Bankers’ Seminar held at Kathua under Kissan Sampark Abhiyan to promote HADP
KATHUA, JUNE 10: A District Level Bankers’ Seminar was held under the ongoing Kissan Sampark Abhiyan launched to promote schemes proposed under Holistic Agriculture Development plan.
Director Animal Husbandry Jammu Dr. Shubra Sharma, who is the visiting Officer for HADP chaired the seminar. Additional District Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Bankers, officers of various line departments and a large number of officers attended the event.
At the outset, LDM explained the procedure, scope and benefits of the Holistic Agriculture Development Plan for the farmers. The credit linked schemes like KCC, PMFME, AIF, AHIDF, FIDF were discussed in detail in the seminar. The procedure for formulation of Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) along with its scope and functioning and its benefits to the farmers were also explained in the meeting.
Agriculture Infrastructure fund, Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Fund, Fisheries and aquaculture Infrastructure Development fund, Horticulture Schemes for farmers, Revised Modified High Density Plantation Scheme, National livestock Mission scheme, Breed Multiplication farms and Bull Production Programme etc were also discussed in the meeting
Speaking at the seminar, the Director Animal Husbandry called for simplifying the procedure for availing the credit by the farmers and to save them from making frequent visits to the banks. She urged the bankers and allied departments to work in coordination to achieve the goals of HADP launched by JKUT with approval of the Government of India. She asked the bankers to facilitate the farmers and sort out the issues at personal level for the welfare of the farming Community. The Officers were directed to sensitize the farmers in their respective areas about the schemes run by the government.
