7TH ARMED FORCES VETERANS DAY CELEBRATIONS AT BUDGAM

As part of 7th Armed Forces Veterans day, an interactive event was organised on 16 Jan 2023 at Budgam under the aegis of Victor Force. A total of 68 Armed Forces Veterans from Budgam and Pulwama Districts attended the event. The event commemorated the spirit of National unity, dedication and sacrifice exhibited by the veterans. During the interaction Commander, 5 Sector RR assured all assistance to veterans and appreciated their role in Nation building. He also urged them to motivate youth to join Armed Forces under the newly introduced Agnipath Scheme. Lectures on various Government welfare schemes for ESM and their dependents, banking welfare schemes and employment opportunities for veterans and their dependents were conducted. Banking and Zila Sainik Board facilitation counters were set up by representative of the agencies on the occasion to help and address grievances / issues faced by veterans. A medical camp was also organised by the Army to provide medical assistance to veterans during the conduct of the event. Suggestions received from veterans were noted by redressal cell established at the location. Veer Naris, veterans and other guests were felicitated during the event and Army thanked them all for their support to make the event successful. The event strengthened the bond and connected serving personnel with veterans,
their families.
