7 Soldiers Injured In Pulwama IED Blast, JeM Claims Responsibility
Srinagar: Seven army soldiers were injured and a Casper vehicle was damaged in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Lassipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
A police official said that around 9:45 pm militants triggered the IED planted under a bridge on Trichal-Lassipora road when the armored vehicle (Casper) of 55 RR was crossing the bridge.
The officer said that seven soldiers were injured in the blast. He said that army retaliated with firing soon after the blast.
Among the injured three seriously wounded have been airlifted to army’s 92 base hospital and four others were taken to nearby military health facility.
However, there was no militant causality reported so far in the incident even as the forces cordoned off the entire area and launched searches to nab the attackers.
Meanwhile, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant out has claimed responsibility for the IED attack at Lasipora.
In a statement issued to GNS, the JeM spokesman claimed that three army men were killed and seven others were injured while as army’s mobile bunker vehicle was completely damaged. (GNS)
