4 drug peddlers arrested in Sopore, case filed
Sopore, July 16 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday arrested four drug peddlers in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district along with psychotropic substance.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that during a naka checking near Amargrah crossing four suspects were arrested as they tried to evade the checkpoint.
They have been identified as Zubair Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohammed Ganie of Badam Bagh, Junaid Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Nabi Shah of Neharpora, Mohammed Asif Mir son of Mushtaq Ahmad Mir of Shalpora and Rouf Ahmad Chopan son of Mohammad Subhan Chopan of Kupwara.
“During their search a total number of 984 Spasmoproxyvan plus banned tablets were recovered,” the official said.
Meanwhile, a case FIR No 61/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Amargrah.
