3 shops owned by 3 females gutted in Anantnag fire incident

Anantnag, Feb 18: Three shops owned by three females were gutted in a mysterious blaze in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Sources told KNT that during the intervening night of 17 and 18 February, fire engulfed the gold ornament shop at Sabzigali Lal Chowk area of the district.

The flames spread to other two adjacent shops and they were too gutted in the incident.

Locals said that short circuit seems to be the cause of the fire.

The shops gutted in the fire incident include golden ornaments shop owned by Ishrat Hassan daughter of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh of Shehlipora, ‘Arif Dupta House’ owned by Shabnum Rasool sheikh of Bilal Colony and Milk shop owned by one Rafiqa Banoo.

Locals said goods worth lakhs were destroyed in the incident.

Police have registered a case and set investigation into motion. (KNT)
