3 of family killed in Pak firing in Poonch: Officials
Jammu: Three members of a family were killed after a shell “fired from across the border” landed and exploded inside their house in Jhullas area of Poonch district in Jammu province late on Friday evening, officials said.
The deceased include a woman and her son and daughter, they said, adding that the woman’s husband was wounded in the incident.
The officials said Rubina Kousar, her nine-year-old son Faizan and five-year-old daughter Shabnam were killed, while Mohammad Younis (the woman’s husband), son of Mohammad Aslam, sustained injuries, after a shell fired from across the border landed inside their house, located at Salotri village, and exploded at around 10pm.
“Rubina, Faizan and Shabnam were killed on the spot”, the officials said, adding that Younis sustained injuries and was evacuated to Poonch district hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Senior superintendent of police, Poonch, Ramesh Angral, confirmed the death of three members of the family and injury Younis.
