3 killed, 6 injured as Tata Sumo plunges into gorge in Reasi

 

LG grieved over loss of lives, prays for speedy recovery of injured

 

Reasi, Apr 21 : At least three persons were killed while six others sustained injuries after a Tata sumo they were travelling in plunged into a gorge at Bal on Bagga Gulabgarh road of Mahore sub division of Reasi district on Thursday.

 

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the accident took place when a Tata Sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK20-7607 moving on road fell into a roadside gorge at Bal, resulting in on spot death of two persons and injuries to seven others.

 

The injured were referred to Mahore hospital where one of the injured succumbed to the injuries, taking the number of causalities in the accident to three.

 

The deceased have been identified as Gulam Mohi Din (35), son of Abdul Samad of Tukson Mahore, Shabir Ahmed (40), son of Abdul Raheem of Tukson Sarh and Muhammad Yousaf (37), son of Abdulla of Tukson.

 

The injured have been identified as Nazir Ahmed, Shams Din, Manzoor Ahmed, SPO Mushtaq Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed and Javid Ahmed.

 

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha in a tweet expressed anguish over the loss of lives in the accident and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

 

Sinha also said that he has directed the district administration to provide immediate relief to families of deceased and best medical assistance to injured persons.
