2011 seditious article published in Kashmir Walla;

SIA conducts searches in Srinagar, incriminating material seized, more seditious content under scanner

Srinagar, April 17: The State Investigation Agency (SIC) on Sunday conducted searches at several locations in Srinagar in case related to seditious article published by Kashmir Walla in 2011. 

The investigating agency has already registered a case against the author of “seditious article” Abdul Aala Fazili and the Editor and other associates of monthly digital Magazine “The Kashmir Wala”.

 

 

A top Police official told ANN News that the article titled “The shackles of slavery will break” by Abdul Aala Fazili published in the monthly Digital Magazine “The Kashmir Wala” on the one hand is highly provocative, seditious and “intended to create unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, written with the purpose of abetting the youth to take the path of violence by glorifying terrorism.”

He added that on the other the write-up promoted and propagated the false narrative “to sustain secessionist cum terrorist campaign aimed at breaking the territorial integrity of India.”

 

 

“The article has used prescriptive language with instructional intent, encouraging secessionist elements to carry out terror activities,” said one of the officials privy to the investigation.

The repeated reference to freedom and terror outfit’s rhetoric makes it amply clear that the article is not merely propaganda. “The article is articulation of Pakistan ISI and the vision of its sponsored terrorist secessionist networks.”

Abdul Aala Fazili, is a PhD scholar in the department of pharmaceutical sciences at Kashmir University.

“Government of India paid him thirty thousand per month for five years till March 2021 through UGC Maulana Azad National Fellowship so that he can sustain himself and complete his PhD. which entitled him,” an official said.  

He added that the searches for the collection of evidence, by the sleuths of SIA of J&K were conducted in the Office of Kashmir Walla and at the residence of Abdul Aala Fazili, residence of Fahad Shah in Srinagar.

“The search teams have seized incriminating evidences, which includes material in computers, laptops and other digital equipments,” he said.

On 10 April, this year, Former professor of Kashmir University Dr Sheikh Showkat who has also remained a columnist to English Daily was removed from the post of Principal Law College Srinagar.

In his number of articles, he has written number of anti-country write ups including “The Way Out: Hurriyat’s 5 point proposal”, “Misinterpreting Kashmir”, “Leaders as scape-goats”, “Lost Battle of Hearts and Minds”, “Here is what we achieved all these days” and many more propaganda which are still available on Greater Kashmir website (archive).

All these write-ups spit venom against the country and are still accessible to lakhs of people across the globe through Greater Kashmir newspaper official website.

“The investigation about all other articles and its publishers is also being taken up as most of these articles written and published are articulations of Pakistan ISI and the vision of its sponsored terrorist secessionist networks,” a top Police official told ANN News.
