1988 batch IPS officer Ravi Sinha is India’s new RAW chief

The central government on Monday appointed Ravi Sinha, a 1988 batch IPS officer as the news Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief, replacing incumbent Samant Goel.
According to an order, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS) the appointment of Ravi Sinha as new RAW chief was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
As per the order Sinha will take charge of the post from the day he assumes charge and the appointment will be for a period of 2 years.
“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shri Ravi Sinha, IPS (CG:88), PSO, Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat (SR) as Secretary, Research & Analysis Wing vice Shri Samant Kurnar Goel, IPS (PB:84) on completion of his tenure on 30.06.2023 for a tenure of 2 years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” reads the order.
