19 Rashtriya Rifles Organises Free Drug Kashmir Awareness Programme In Kokernag

ANANTNAG — In continuation by taking an initiative to eradicate drug menace from the society, Army’s 19 Rashtriya Rifles organised free drug Kashmir campaign and Indian Army 19 Rashtriya Rifles Kokernag COB organised drug de addition seminar in collaboration with Government Degree College Kokernag in Anantnag district of south Kashmir on Wednesday.

The aim of organising such seminars provide insight to the students about the seriousness of drug addiction.

Commanding officer 19 RR, Colonel Manpreet Singh, SDM Kokernag Sarib Seharan, Dysp Kokernag Arshid Ahmad, Incharge Drug De-Addiction Anantnag Dr. Mudasira Jan, Principle Govt. Degree College professor Mohd Shafie Malik, Major Shanmukh along with Convenor Fayaz ahmad and Co Convenor Professor Javaid Majeed Wani of the college was present on the occasion.

The programme was also attended by other gusts , students and other volunteers.

Speakers stressed on the importance of such programme to reach out to the youth to educate them about the menace of alcohol, drugs and substance abuse.

Commanding Officer 19 Rashtriya Rifles Colonel Manpreet Singh addressed in his speech that say no to drugs a live a happier life.He deliberated on the ill-effects of drug abuse and highlighted the need of taking preventive measures to eradicate the menace of drugs.

He also said the main aim of the programme was to spread awareness among parents’ community to take necessary steps for curbing the drug menace.
