18 CRPF Personal Killed In IED Blast In Pulwama
Pulwama: Eighteen CRPF personal were killed on Thursday after an IED blast by militants struck a bus in Goripora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, news agency PTI said quoting officials.
The Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility for the attack, officials said. The casualties are likely to go up.
Police identified the militant as Adil Ahmad from Kakapora, Pulwama. He joined the Jaish-Mohammed in 2018, they said.
According to news agency ANI, two buses of the CRPF convoy were targeted. Gunshots were also heard after the IED blast.
The bus was blown up by an IED explosion on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Awantipora area of the district, a police official said.
Several people were injured in the IED blast. Further details are awaited. (ToI)
