17-year-old Kashmiri pacer Rasikh Salam makes IPL debut
Srinagar: South Kashmir boy Rasikh Salam Dar has become second ever cricketer from J&K to play in Indian Premier League (IPL) as he was included by Mumbai Indians in the playing eleven of their opening match on Sunday in Mumbai.
Rasikh Salam who was picked up by Mumbai Indians during players’ auction has been handed debut by Mumbai Indians in their first match of the IPL-2019.
He is now second ever player from J&K to play in lucrative cricket league after Parvez Rasool. Overall he is fourth J&K player to get into IPL team but only second player to be included in playing eleven.
Last year, Kings XI Punjab had picked Manzoor Pandav for its team but he was never included in playing eleven.
Rasikh is a young pacer from Kulgam district who came into cricketing scene after playing in the district level events and then went in to play for J&K senior teams during 2018-19 season.
