16 Kg IED Detected In Bandipora Village, Diffused

BANDIPORA — Police on Saturday said that the security forces averted a major tragedy by diffusing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Astangoo village in Bandipora district of North Kashmir.

Reports said, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing around 16 kg, fitted with two gas cylinders was detected by joint team of forces at Astangoo village on Bandipora-Sopore road in the district this morning.

They said that the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called in and the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was successfully diffused without causing any damage.

The traffic movement which was temporarily halted on Bandipora-Sopore road has also been restored. — (KIMS)
