15-Year-Old Rajwar Girl Dies Days After Alleged Medical Negligence at GMC Handwara

A 15-year-old girl from Bowan Rajwar, identified as Shaeena Qadir, allegedly administered an injection without the mandatory test dose at Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara on August 14, passed away today at the Children’s Hospital Srinagar after battling for her life for ten days.
According to her family, Shaeena’s health allegedly deteriorated immediately after being injected, raising concerns of medical negligence. She was rushed to Srinagar for specialized treatment, where she remained in critical condition until she allegedly succumbed this morning, August 24.
In the aftermath of the incident, GMC Handwara constituted a team to investigate the matter. However, no report has yet been shared with the family or any concerned authorities.
The tragic death of Shaeena Qadir has once again cast a harsh spotlight on alleged patient safety lapses and negligence at GMC Handwara, sparking outrage and renewed calls for accountability.
