1 Kg Brown Sugar Seized in Pulwama, Two Arrested

Pulwama, Dec 1: In a major action against the narco-terror supply chain, Pulwama Police on Sunday arrested two drug peddlers and seized 1 kg 130 grams of suspected brown sugar during a routine checking operation.

A police party of PP Rahmoo, while conducting a naka at Rahmoo Bridge, intercepted a suspicious Tata Mobile (JK09D-7662). The team detained the two occupants of the vehicle, identified as Muneer Ahmed Sheikh, son of Abdul Hameed Sheikh, and Toufeeq Ahmed Sheikh, son of Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh, both residents of Hajitra Karna.

During a search of the vehicle, the naka team recovered the narcotic substance, foiling an attempt to push a major consignment into the district. Police also seized the Tata Mobile used in the crime.

A case under FIR No. 124/2025, under Sections 8, 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act, has been registered at Police Station Rajpora. Investigation is underway to trace the wider supply chain, including the source and intended recipients of the consignment.

Pulwama Police reiterated its commitment to intensifying its fight against drugs and urged the public to remain vigilant and support efforts to dismantle narcotic networks threatening the youth.
